Bonjour From Paris Fashion Week

French women have always been a fascination of mine as long as I can remember. I envisioned her dressed in classic black and whites, with her oh so perfect red lipstick, faced with a cigarette that she is so effortlessly holding with grace. I imagined her wearing Dior boots, a black artist style Barret, Gucci cat eye sunglasses, Chanel Jewelry and the perfect black and gold Chanel bag.

After attending my very first Paris Fashion Week, I learned that Paris is a romantic place of art, beauty, history, and of course fashion. I watched my dreams come true over my ten day stay in this romantic city filled with cafés featuring crepes, croissants and cappuccinos. Is there a place more romantic, magical and fashionable than Paris?

As most of you know, I owned a women’s contemporary ready to wear brand. Each of my designs was inspired by modern architecture here in Manhattan. I was fascinated by the shapes, the silhouettes, the shadowing and every little detail that created our beautiful skyline here in New York City. While preparing for my trip to Paris, I was filled with joy researching the best places to photograph amazing content, but surrounding myself with even more fascinating architecture. The Parisian architecture shares so much history with its beautiful detail. After creating a list of locations to shoot my Parisian content, while visiting for Paris Fashion Week, I styled beautiful, Parisian inspired outfits to match the architectural vibes presented throughout Paris.

Sometimes in order to get the perfect shot, one must break a few rules to get there. I had the opportunity to work with a photographer who gave us access experience shooting on rooftops right in front of the Eiffel Tower! As my husband would say to me, “sometimes you have to risk it to get the biscuit.” I certainly risked it by standing on the edge of the beautiful Parisian rooftops in the wind and rain to obtain the exact photos I worked so hard to design. The fact is they came out even better than I could have ever imagined! Check out my Paris Fashion Week stories on Instagram to see a little behind the scenes on the rooftop photoshoot.

While creating content at the Opera House, I came across a little problem and realized the ticket my group purchased was for an open tour not a private tour. Little did we know that in order to go into the actual opera seating area, we needed the private ticket tour. We had already spent money on this tour, missed a fashion week presentation and went out of our way to get to this location. There was no way I was going to leave the Opera House without getting some form of the photo I really wanted. Yet again we risked it by jumping over the public area of the upper level suite style seating, took a really quick photo in a private box and jumped back over to the public area! (see photo below)

The adrenaline of climbing on a roof in heels or jumping into a suite for the perfect shot is unreal. Creating content is my passion and sometimes you have to be really careful, but you have to break the rules. Thank you Paris for helping me create this amazing content, introducing me to the best crepe, and sharing with me your perfect sense of fashion.
